Events

I have no current plans for future events.

The event below on 23 June 2019 was a success. As best I could count, 47 people (including Dr. Carrier) were present. Lecture slides and recording should be available before too long.

Update: Video of this lecture is now available:

Dr. Carrier will have his books to sell and sign

Richard Carrier has a doctorate in ancient history from Columbia University. He has published papers and books on history and philosophy, including work on early Christianity, atheism, Bayes’ theorem, and ancient science. His most recent book is The Scientist in the Early Roman Empire (2017).

This is Dr. Carrier’s first lecture on the link between ancient mystery religions and early Christianity. It is largely based on material explored in his peer-reviewed 2014 book, On the Historicity of Jesus: Why We Might Have Reason for Doubt.

The lecture is in the Studio on the 2nd floor.

No food or drink is allowed in the room.

If the street door is locked, buzz CRS on the 2nd floor.

Do not come more than 15 minutes early; CRS has very limited space for waiting.
